José Lino Copa

Jose Lino Copa was born in Argentina. While studying physical education and playing soccer at the University of Tucuman, Argentina, he met and married his wife, Margaret. They have two sons and six grandchildren.

In 1982, they moved to the United States, where he completed his degree in physical education at Mars Hill University in North Carolina. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Sports Science at the United States Sports Academy in Alabama and has an Advanced National Coaching License. He coached soccer from grade school to the university level. Coach Copa trained players and formed soccer leagues throughout his career and is a member of multiple educational and soccer organizations in Texas and the US.

He combined his soccer coaching career at the university and high school levels with teaching Spanish. He is a freelance translator and interpreter in Spanish and English.

Too Old to Play . . . Too Young to Coach is his first book, relating the account of his unique and remarkable beginnings as a soccer player and coach. The book is also available in Spanish under the title, Es Menor de Edad . . . ¿Será Posible?
